What a day I had ... Things didn't start off the way they should have on a Tuesday. My neighbors woke up to the sound of me screaming after I checked my bank statement online. Somehow I was charged $205 for a two night stay at the Marriott ... The only problem was I hadn't. After watching one of my lens pop out of place from the frame of my glasses, I could only start laughing. I managed to still get to work on time even though everything during my trip to work was blurry.

I sat at my desk thinking over my game plan -- "Who did I need to call first to retrieve my money?" I decided to call my Financial Instution first to explain to them the situation I had endured. I was advised that I needed to contact Marriot Hotel directly and speak with someone in Accounting. I thought, "No problem, I'll explain that there was some type os misunderstanding and I would get my monies back A.S.A.Now."

After calling and speaking with a Rep. I was advised that I would hear back from them in about an hour. The hour came and went without any type of contact made on their part. I wasn't a happy camper, but I was trying to understand being that I work in the Technical Support | Customer Service arena. Who really wants to hear someone bitch and complain?

So being that I couldn't wait for a callback any longer -- I called back. I was advised that they managed to get $102.60 back for me. Ain't that some shit? I wasn't pleaded and I wasn't going to be happy until I got back all of my monies being that I wasn't render any services by the Marriott Hotel.

I tried going the "Well I need a name and address so I can write a letter to voice my complaint ..." route but that didn't work ... In most cases it does -- Most companies only want positive feedback from consumers ... Anything below "Outstanding," is not acceptable ... I was referred back to my Credit Union. After speaking with my Credit Union and being unhappy with what they had to say "Well after looking over the VISA Handbook -- More than likely you won't get your money back ..." Fuck a VISA Handbook ... Do what's right!

They left me no other choice but too unleash my secret weapon ... I placed a call to my mom and explained the situation to her... LOL! Let's just say by the time she had gotten off the phone with a Manager from the Marriott hotel ... I was promised all of my money back, a free night at the Marriott, and another reason to appreciate my mom.

Being that it's Thankful Tuesday I'm thankful for the following people: Donald, Jarrell, Mr. Weldon, Sevet and My Mom. Whenever I need a good laugh, someone to say "It's going to be alright," some words of encouragement, or someone to just listen ... They've been there -- and I appreciate that.
