I’ve decided that I’m going to do some research into purchasing a house … Yes you’ve read right … A house | townhouse | condo etc. Your probably wondering, “Why?” I know … I just move into my own apartment a couple of months ago but it’s never to early or later to become a homeowner. I was on the Internet earlier this morning at The City Of Long Beach’s website and I stumbled across a Down Payment Assistance Program application for first time Home Buyers. I’ve completed half of the application – I need to submit some additional information and I’ll complete that part of the application once I get home and find the necessary paperwork.

To be honest with you – I’m really not sure where I should start on my house | townhouse | condo hunt … I’ve requested information from various organizations here and there … I’ve talked with a Realtor to see what I would qualify for. I would like to consume as much information as possible – Knowledge is a powerful thing to have. From what I’ve learned thus far there are a couple of steps/modules to buying: Housing Vocabulary, Budgeting, Credit and Credit Scores, Pre-Qualification, The Lending Rainbow, Working with a Real Estate Professional, Close of Escrow, Predatory Lending, Home Maintenance, and Avoiding Foreclosure.

So the big question now is … “Where do I start?” I’m going to submit my Down Payment Assistance Application and see what happens … If I get approved I’ll be jumping for joy. When I talked with my Real Estate Agent earlier this year she hipped me to how much money people spend on Renting … and it’s pathetic! I refuse to see my hard own money pay for someone else’s < a href=http://www.freemyheart.com>pocket.

I’ll pray over the situation and see where it takes me … I guess in a way this is a good thing … It’ll keep my mind off that Honda Prelude | Pilot that I’ve been thinking about getting. I really need to get some things in my life straighten out … My trips to Banana Republic will have to decrease for some time.
